Catalan Grand Prix: Somkiat Chantra wraps up Saturday’s Sprint in Barcelona

IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Somkiat Chantra finished 18th in Saturday’s Sprint at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya.

• After a challenging qualifying session, the Thai rider faced a demanding comeback Sprint on Catalan soil.
• Chantra got off to a solid start and pushed hard to regain positions.
• However, tyre drop in the latter stages made it difficult to achieve his targets, and he crossed the line in 18th, gathering valuable data ahead of tomorrow’s race.

“I’m happy with my Sprint, overall. The start went well, and I focused on managing the tyres. However, once they began to drop, it became difficult, as I struggled with spinning on this track. Physically, it was also tough, and I had to fight through some difficulties, but overall I gave my best effort.”
